Crime Boss: Rockay City Review – The City That Sleeps

Crime
Boss: Rockay City appears to be a bombastic, star-studded adventure
about a criminal organization's rise to power. Gameplay, however,
differs greatly from that of the trailer. Unbalanced gameplay, bugs,
repetition, and boredom are all common problems.

While the
celebrity cast seems exciting at first glance, the crude and humorless
writing reduces the already middling performances of characters voiced
by Michael Madsen, Michael Rooker, Vanilla Ice, among others.

A
roguelite's single-player campaign lacks the genre's typical hooks, and
bugs can inhibit progress at crucial moments. Multiplayer works, but the
cooperative modes offer the same mindlessly dull missions you'll
encounter dozens of times.

All of this results in an aimless
package that is not worth playing compared to other games that perform
significantly better.
