How to Backstab in Elden Ring, it’s OK!

In the early game stages in Elden Ring, you are very vulnerable to attack. This is especially true for some of the weaker starting classes. If you want to master the Backstab technique, you need to go low. Morals are not important early on, so go low! Below, we will discuss what backstabbing is and who is responsible for performing it. What is Backstabbing Anyway?

When used properly, backstabbing can be used against any NPC, including those who are more aggressive and harder to take down with a frontal attack. It is a critical attack that can be used on any NPC in Elden Ring, but it is especially effective on those who are more aggressive. By pressing the light attack button while standing behind enemies, you can backstab them. Controllers use the right shoulder button, while PCs use the left mouse button.

Limitations

There is no way to backstab every enemy you come across. Only humanoid NPCs can be backstabbed. Backstabs can be performed with many weapons, but some exceptions apply. Also, the NPC needs to be roughly the same height as you. Backstabbing a giant is out of the question!

Backstab Tips

Shields cannot be used for backstabs
