Final Fantasy 16 (FFXVI) includes a Training Mode called The Hall of Virtue. By entering Cid's Hideaway and interacting with the Arete Stone you will enter The Hall of Virtue and begin a Training Mode session.

What is the Arete Stone in Final Fantasy 16 (FFXVI) Training Mode?



The primary use of the Arete Stone is the Training Mode. Despite being called a Training Mode, it's more of a testing ground where you can test out your combos and learn about your total damage output. This makes it a great place to learn which combos are the most efficient as well as the best moves to use in general per each Eikon form!

The Training Mode has several options you can choose and toggle whenever you participate in Training Mode. You can practice different attack combos measuring the resulting damage!

Selecting your Target in Training Mode in Final Fantasy 16 (FFXVI)



You can select from a list of enemies you've already encountered in your Main Story. You can choose between constant random enemies from the list or choose one yourself, with the game pointing out their attack focus.

You won't find every enemy in the game here, and many of the bosses from the main scenario will not be available, but there is still a wide variety to choose from.

What is Arcade Mode in Final Fantasy 16 (FFXVI) Training Mode?



The Arcade Mode in Arete Stone lets you replay certain parts of a stage and get scores based on how well you perform in battle. Gain high scores using combos and battle techniques. Defend yourself against other players on the leaderboard by achieving the highest score possible.

In order to access Arcade Mode, you must first progress through the Main Quest until you complete the Fanning Embers Main Quest, early on in the adventure. When you return to the Hideaway, you will find two new options: Arcade Mode and Stage Replay.

When you access Arcade Mode in Final Fantasy Mode, you’ll have the option of selecting Ultimaniac when choosing a stage. This is a mode that is even more difficult. The Online Leaderboard is for ultimate bragging rights among Final Fantasy enthusiasts, but there are no rewards for beating stages in this mode.

It has the same functionality as Arcade Mode—giving players enemies to test their combat skills on and having them compete against each other by raking up points through overall performance.

What is Stage Replay in Final Fantasy 16 (FFXVI) Training Mode?



Stage Replay allows replaying parts of the story to re-experience them. This mode is especially useful for getting missed treasure chests and items. You can rewatch cutscenes and beat enemies in the stage again to gain EXP, AP, and gil. Once you defeat Midnight Raven, this mode unlocks with Arcade Mode.

When you access Arcade Mode in Final Fantasy Mode, you'll have the option of selecting Ultimaniac when choosing a stage. This is a mode that is even more challenging than the toughest character action games.



What are the Chronolith Trials in Final Fantasy 16 (FFXVI) Training Mode?



The Chronolith Trials are a series of timed challenges across Valisthea, consisting of waves of enemies, followed by a boss at the end. After beating the Chronolith Trials, you can replay them in the Arete Stone with increased difficulty and no new rewards if you beat them. Clive is limited to using one Eikon and its abilities. When you play in Final Fantasy Mode, you can participate in the Final Chronolith Trials, which have a leaderboard based on the mode's difficulty.
